Biografía
Tacy Downing, MD, is an interventional and adult congenital cardiologist who sees patients at the main campus in Washington, D.C. Dr. Downing received a medical degree and combined residency training in pediatrics and adult internal medicine at Duke University Hospital. She then completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, with advanced training in interventional catheterization and adult congenital heart disease.
Dr. Downing is board certified in pediatrics, internal medicine, pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease. She specializes in diagnostic and interventional catheterization for congenital heart disease patients of all ages (infant through adult). She performs a wide range of procedures including device closure of atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect, and patent ductus arteriosus, as well as transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement.
Dr. Downing's clinical and research interests include long-term outcomes in adults with single ventricle heart disease, radiation reduction in the congenital catheterization laboratory, and team-based optimization of vascular access in infants with heart disease.
