Syed Muhammad Ali Bukhari, MD, is a highly accomplished pediatric cardiac surgeon whose journey embodies dedication, expertise and a deep-rooted commitment to improving children's health. Born and raised in Multan, Pakistan—a city renowned for its rich history, spiritual legacy as the "City of Saints" and world-famous mangoes—Dr. Bukhari’s path to excellence began with his medical education at Nishtar Medical University, where he also completed his general and thoracic surgery residency. 

Following his foundational training in congenital heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Bukhari earned the prestigious opportunity for advanced training at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a fellow from 2017 to 2020. During his fellowship, he gained invaluable surgical skills and collaborated with some of the world’s leading experts in the field, all within an environment marked by excellence, warmth and supportive mentorship.

After his fellowship, Dr. Bukhari returned to Multan and joined the Children’s Hospital Multan as a cardiac surgeon, where he played a pivotal role in developing a successful neonatal and infant congenital heart surgery program. Though this period of service brought fulfillment, he deeply missed the Children's National community. His aspiration for continued professional growth brought him back to the United States, where he was warmly welcomed by the Children’s National team. Dr. Bukhari is committed to contributing with unwavering dedication, compassion and expertise.
