Nurse Practitioner

Sameeya Ahmed-Winston, CPNP-PC, is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program. She also serves as team lead for the advanced practice providers supporting the Divisions of Allergy and Immunology, Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and Rheumatology. 

Ahmed-Winston earned her undergraduate nursing degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing as an advanced practice nurse practitioner at Duke University. Since beginning her nursing career in 2002, she has dedicated her practice to the care of pediatric patients undergoing blood and marrow transplantation.

Her clinical interests include long-term survivorship care, fertility preservation, and patient and family education for children who have received bone marrow transplants. Ahmed-Winston has a strong commitment to education and mentorship and has devoted much of her career to training and supporting novice nurses and advanced practice providers.

In addition to her leadership and educational roles, her clinical focus centers on the care of patients with nonmalignant conditions, including immunodeficiencies and other blood disorders, who are undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and gene therapy. Through her clinical work, leadership and mentorship, she remains deeply committed to advancing high-quality, compassionate care for pediatric transplant patients and their families.
