Biografía
Rana Hamdy, MD, MSCE, MPH, completed a pediatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, a master's degree in public health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a master's degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Dr. Hamdy's clinical expertise and interests focus on the epidemiology of antibiotic-resistant infections and of antibiotic use in children. She serves as the Director of the Children's National Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, whose goal is to improve antibiotic prescribing practices in order to improve clinical outcomes while limiting the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Hamdy is also an associate professor of pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
