Biografía
Pamela Mudd, MD, MBA, FAAP, is a fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) at Children’s National Hospital and an associate professor of surgery and pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and holds subspecialty certification in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology.
Dr. Mudd specializes in pediatric voice disorders and head and neck surgery. She is the director of the Voice and Vocal Cord Dysfunction Clinic and is internationally recognized for her work in the management of vocal cord immobility and paralysis. Dr. Mudd has pioneered programs focused on early intervention in vocal function rehabilitation, offering advanced treatments such as injection laryngoplasty, reinnervation surgery and vocal scar surgery. She collaborates closely with the Speech and Swallow Therapy team to provide comprehensive diagnosis and post-treatment care. In addition, she is a specialist in laryngeal dyspnea and voice changes related to puberty.
Dr. Mudd also serves as the surgical director of the Thyroid Nodule and Thyroid Cancer Clinic, a multidisciplinary program that provides coordinated care for patients with genetic, autoimmune and neoplastic thyroid disorders. She offers complex pediatric ENT care at Children’s National Hospital as well as general ENT services at affiliated ambulatory sites.
She earned her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in 2007. Dr. Mudd completed her residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (2007–2012), followed by a fellowship in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (2012–2014).
