Biografía
Lucy Marcil, MD, MPH, is a pediatrician at Children’s National THEARC and enjoys taking care of all age groups from newborns to young adults. She's interested in improving children’s health through structural changes, including improving economic equity, addressing climate change, and health policy/politics.
An associate professor of pediatrics at Boston University, she is also the co-founder and executive director of StreetCred, an organization delivering a suite of evidence-based, cash-like economic resources to families during prenatal and well-child care. Through this work, Dr. Marcil has raised over $4 million in funding, served more than 2,500 families throughout Boston, and gave a Ted Talk that reached 1.4 million people.
Dr. Marcil also founded the national Health by Wealth Collective, which has provided technical support on implementing medical financial partnerships to 30 health centers and systems around the country. For her work, she has been recognized as a TED Fellow and Aspen Ascend fellow.
As a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow, she worked on health policy for the Democratic Whip, Rep. Katherine Clark, in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024.
Dr. Marcil completed her MD at the University of Pennsylvania, MPH at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and pediatrics training at the Boston Combined Residency Program (Harvard University, Boston University).
