Biografía
Keyur K. Mehta, MD, is a dedicated pediatric cardiologist serving families across Northern Virginia and the greater DMV region. He specializes in fetal and pediatric cardiology with a passion for customized patient care. Known for his thoughtful, family-centered approach, Dr. Mehta is committed to delivering compassionate, superlative care to children of all ages.
Dr. Mehta completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital), following his residency in pediatrics at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he also served as a chief of House Staff. During his training, he was recognized for both his clinical excellence and passion for teaching, receiving the Jay H. Fisher Award for Excellence in Pediatric Education and the Madu Rao Award for Pediatric Research. He earned his medical degree from Grant Government Medical College in Mumbai, India, one of South Asia’s oldest and prestigious medical institutions.
Since 2019, Dr. Mehta has practiced in Northern Virginia as a fetal and pediatric cardiologist with Johns Hopkins Medicine/Children’s Heart Institute, and he is now part of Children’s National Hospital. His clinical interests include congenital and acquired heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, aortopathy, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias and preventive cardiology, including lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity, hypertension and dyslipidemia in children.
In terms of the advancement of medical science and literature contribution, Dr. Mehta is actively engaged in research and education. He serves as a reviewer for several journals and has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and abstracts on topics including heart rhythm disorders, structural heart disease, COVID-19, Kawasaki Disease and management of complex congenital heart diseases. He has presented his work at several conferences and has been recognized at national and international meetings, including selection as a finalist for the Young Investigator Award by the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
At the heart of Dr. Mehta’s practice is a deep respect for families and their concerns.
