Neonatologist

Josh Attridge, MD, has been appointed chief of Regional Hospital-Based Specialties. Dr. Attridge joined the Children's National team in 2012 as medical director for one of the outlying NICU’s at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. For the last year, he has served as interim director for Regional Hospital-Based Specialties, which provides care for newborns and pediatric patients at eight community hospital sites throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. 

Dr. Attridge received his degree in art history from Williams College and went on to obtain his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency and neonatology fellowship at the University of Virginia (UVA). He remained at UVA as a faculty member for six years with a clinical research focus on intestinal perforation and patent ductus arteriosus in premature newborns.
