Biografía
Andrea Badillo, MD, serves as the associate chief of the Division of Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction at Children’s National Hospital and is a professor of surgery and pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Badillo also serves the director of the Prenatal General & Thoracic and Prenatal Colorectal Programs within the Zickler Family Prenatal Pediatrics Institute.
She is an expert in prenatal diagnosis, the management of fetal lung lesions, anorectal malformations, cloacal malformation, Hirschsprung disease, minimally invasive surgery and conditions leading to fecal incontinence such as spinal conditions and functional constipation. She is well known for her compassionate style of care.
Dr. Badillo attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, and medical school and general surgery residency at George Washington University, including three years of basic science and clinical research. Dr. Badillo completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Upon conclusion of her training, she was recruited to Children’s National in Washington, D.C.
Working together with Marc Levitt, MD, she helped to develop the Division of Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction at Children’s National Hospital, a fully integrated program with colorectal surgery, urology, gastroenterology and gynecology expertise dedicated to the care of children and young adults with colorectal and reconstructive needs. She has extensive experience in colorectal care including challenging revisional surgeries and repairing the most complex of malformations.
