Biografía
Anastasia Grivoyannis, MD, completed her fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and has been caring for children in the Washington, D.C., area since 2018. She is passionate about minimizing pain and anxiety during procedures, and works closely with families, child life specialists and the surgical team to create a calm, reassuring environment. Her highest priority is your child’s comfort and safety — both physically and emotionally.
Her work is informed by a global perspective: she has participated in humanitarian missions with Médecins Sans Frontières in Jordan, Liberia and Nigeria. These experiences deepen her empathy, helping her connect with children and families from all backgrounds.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Grivoyannis contributes to important research. Her recent studies examine how to safely use medications that help reduce blood-loss in children undergoing major surgery, and how to improve monitoring to make anesthesia drugs safer and more effective. These efforts help make anesthesia care better — not just for her patients, but for children everywhere.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Grivoyannis is dedicated to service, education and continuous learning. She believes in empowering families with information, answering all your questions and helping you feel confident about your child’s care.
